Service Intervals BMW uses an on-board computer system to determine when a service should be done on a vehicle. The system takes into account driving habits (hard/soft acceleration, temperatures, number of starts, etc) to calculate when the optimum time is due for a service. The system will then light an "indicated service" due light on the dash to let the driver know it is time for service. Because of this, exact mileage intervals cannot be given. However, the following may be used as a general guideline.

• Oil Service is normally due at intervals with a maximum of 7,500 miles or 6 months.
• Inspection I is normally due at intervals with a maximum of 15,000 miles or 12 months.
• Inspection II is normally due at intervals with a maximum of 30,000 miles or 24 months.
